A couple of the pandas are currently in Houghton (hoe-ton), Michigan for the US XC ski nationals. It's a charming town with a great university and wicked-fun nordic trails. Houghton recently received a decent dump of snow, which makes for fun days.
The groomers have been superb all week and today they were busy packing down all of the fresh snow. This morning Oli B and I were sharing the trails with the nice men who were track-setting. This is how it felt every time we heard their quads approaching:

I think the above animation is especially appropriate since an area of the ski network is full of trails named after Lord-of-the-Ringy type things.
I haven't found any batman trails yet.

American racing has lived up to it's competitive reputation. In other words, I've been beaten by a lot of Merkins this week.
Olivia's comments on her two races: "Both were massive efforts I was pleased with. One ended in a good result and one ended in a not-so-good result and that's all I have to say!"
